Registration now open for the inaugural Digital Construction North.
The countdown has begun for the first ever Digital Construction North (DCN), and registration is now open!
This must-attend, one-day event will take place on 13 November 2024 at Manchester Central, marking the launch of a dynamic new platform for AECO professionals across the North of the UK.
As the newest addition to the Digital Construction Week (DCW), portfolio, Digital Construction North promises a flavour of Digital Construction Week in a fresh one-day format. It features new and exclusive content that can’t be accessed elsewhere, tailored to the Northern AECO community.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a wide array of interactive sessions, including keynotes, hands-on demonstrations, live product launches, and podcast recordings, making it an unmissable event for anyone invested in the future of construction.
Ollie Hughes, Event Director, shares the vision behind DCN:
“We’ve observed that while Digital Construction Week draws a significant international crowd, we see fewer attendees from the North of the UK. Understanding the challenges of travel and time commitments, we are excited to present a localised showcase of AECO innovation right in the heart of Manchester.
“The North is experiencing a construction boom, driven by a commitment to levelling-up, and we’re eager to contribute by providing a platform where the industry can connect, collaborate, and share cutting-edge ideas.”
Mark Taylor, Associate Director of Digital Construction at Buro Happold and a member of the DCN steering group, adds: “The North of England boasts a vibrant ecosystem of SMEs and startups, where digital transformation is pivotal for business growth and innovation.”
“It’s really exciting to see DCW, an advocate for AECO industry transformation, coming to the North to put a spotlight on the region’s commitment to embracing digital.”
Discover innovations shaping the built environment
The central exhibition will feature 50 leading built environment brands showcasing the latest technological solutions, including digital twins, augmented reality, information management, automation, AI, drones, and robotics.
Visitors will have the chance to meet the innovators behind these technologies and learn how they can enhance efficiency, sustainability, and profitability in their businesses.
Get inspired and learn from the education programme
DCN will host a series of free-to-attend talks, panel discussions, and interactive workshops across five dedicated theatres. Over 75 industry experts will share their insights on the latest trends and challenges in architecture, construction, engineering, and operations. Key topics will include business efficiency, change management, winning work, standards, information management, AI, BIM, asset management and much more.
An exclusive keynote session will be held in the main auditorium. Details on how to secure your ticket for this must-attend talk, exclusive to DCN, will be released closer to the event.
Join your AECO community
Digital Construction North is not just an event – it’s a hub for networking and knowledge-sharing. Attendees will have numerous opportunities to forge new connections and collaborate on innovative solutions. Northern AECO communities and interest groups are encouraged to host meetups and special events around the show, with more information on how to participate to be shared soon.
Dr Melanie Robinson, Associate at BIM Academy and Northeast regional lead for Women in BIM, highlights the significance of DCN: “There is a lot of great work being done in the North, and an initiative like DCN will play a great part in showcasing this.”
“The event will also help demonstrate that there are opportunities for growth across the region, and potentially attract new talent from neighbouring sectors,” she concludes.
